My Story

On February 5, 2017, I was hit by a subway train and that was the beginning of my second life! In the beginning, it was anything but easy. But the words “anything is possible” were always in the back of my mind. Every challenge is meant to be overcome!
I HAVE DECIDED TO FIGHT!

My Vision

You have 3 choices in life:
give up, give in, or roll up your sleeves and get going!
Since I am a very determined person, the only choice for me is to roll up my sleeves and get going.
My big dream is to win a medal at the Paralympics!

My Story

Subtitle for custom module

Hi, I’m Henrik and I'd like to tell you my story. I used to live like most young people, doing a lot of sports and having fun with my friends. I don't think I questioned very much, I just lived.

But I was also very determined and ambitious. Until February 5, 2017. From that point on, my life changed dramatically. On my way home from a concert, I fell onto the tracks and was hit by a subway train.

Since then, I have been paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair. Today I know that life can change dramatically from one minute to the next. The way back to life was very hard, and in the beginning you keep on asking yourself: “Why me?”. But I have decided to fight. Because this is my second life!

Thanks to my family, my positive environment and my strong will, I have already achieved a lot and still have big plans.

During my rehabilitation at the Weißer Hof rehabilitation center, I discovered my love for table tennis. What started out as a form of therapy quickly turned into something more, and since then I have been training very intensively and with a high level of ambition.

My big dream is to win a medal at the Paralympics!

However, in order to achieve my goal, I need financial support/sponsorship.

From the fixed costs (rackets, balls) to the participation fees for tournaments/training camps (travel, accommodation) to regular sports physiotherapy and mental training, there are many other costs to consider.

I am deeply grateful for every cent!

Enclosed is a report about my journey:

THE LONG STRUGGLE BACK TO LIFE
